RAPID-ACTING INSULIN

Rapid-acting insulin is a type of insulin designed to control blood glucose levels immediately after meals (prandial bolus).

It begins to work within 10–20 minutes, reaches its peak effect in 1–2 hours, and lasts for 3–5 hours.

It is administered by injection or inhalation, ideally 15 minutes before or immediately after eating.
